Today as you go about your day, maybe you are having a bad moment, a bad day or even having a bad week. Through it all, remember this, you have something that many people don’t have. That many are fighting for. You have LIFE. Peace!
Have you noticed that when there’s a slow driver ahead of you while you are in a hurry to get where you are going, they always seem to be going exactly where you are? Turning at the same turns as you, even going down the same back lanes. Or is it just me? How about the opposite? You are the one driving at a snail’s pace trying to find the address of your destination and wishing that the car behind would just go around so you don’t feel so rushed. But no, they don’t, instead following you down every street and around every corner. Worse yet is when they actually pull up at the same house!
I need to get up and get going instead of sitting here moaning the fact that Summer would be over in just a few weeks. Do you know that I have yet to take out all my Summer wear? Heck, I haven’t even gotten around to putting away my winter stuff. I have sandals and slippers not worn. I have Spring cleaning not yet started and Summer projects too. Am I sad and depressed? Yes I am! Hating the cold winter doesn’t help none.
The other day I went to my favorite coffee shop and was a bit surprised to see the person serving me was an old co-worker. I immediately thought to myself, “Is this where you ended up? Why couldn’t you have done something better with your life?” But you know what? She looked very happy and was darn good at what she was doing. It made me think.
Sometimes life is such a rat race that we forget the true meaning of it. It’s not having the best job but being the best at your job. It doesn’t matter if someone is married with kids and works at Macdonald’s. It’s not about that. It doesn’t mean they wasted their life away. It’s the happiness and the meaning that really counts. So next time you go through the check out at your grocery store, gas bar or convenience store, don’t look down on the person serving you. Don’t treat them like they only exist to serve you, they don’t.
What exactly is a real job?
With a few minutes to waste I checked my computer to see what was trending on the web. I saw Keira Knightley was, so because she’s a hottie, wanted to see what her buzz was about. Maybe she posed nude somewhere? Or had a that as a kid, she was told she was anorexic and a shit actress. Do people really take anything these celebs say seriously anyways? Like who gives a rat’s ass? “Oh woe is me! I was a fat kid, blah blah blah”. Go spend your millions and stop belly-aching already.
Don’t get me wrong, Keira is a hottie. Were I a single man, I would do her Knightley but that’s as far as it goes.
I hate it when I am driving behind Mr. or Ms. Featherfoot and they seem to be going the same place I am, turning down the same obscure streets ahead of me like a pace car. For some reason, it’s usually when I am in a hurry to get to where I’m going. The opposite pisses me off too. Like when I’m lost and driving slowly looking at houses and street numbers and some guy is behind me and not passing even though I am waving him on. He also turns down every street that I do. Don’t you hate that?
What’s the secret to having thousands of followers to your blog? And no, don’t tell me all that crap that WordPress says about how to get a captive audience. I have seen blogs with over 15000 followers that had no substance. Grammatical errors everywhere, no photos, no paragraph structure and basically against all WordPress how-to rules. So what gives? Oh and you know what? These bloggers post that they are going to write a book. Pardon me for asking but what is this book about?
Now don’t get me wrong. I love the blogging community. I don’t consider myself in the same echelon as most of them. If the truth be told, I barely consider myself a damn good blogger but who’s talking about me? It’s simply an observation that I’m making. An honest and candid observation. After all, it’s what this blog about.
